Hi all,

This is Yong Jeong Yi, the instructor for the New Media Class.

I’m very glad to have you all in this class, which is going to be enriched by our *collaborative* works.
Briefly speaking, I am an allumni of the SKKU, where I’ve studied Library & Information Science. Since I was interested in Social Science, I studied Public Administration in a graudate program at Korea University, and then I went to U.S. to get in a MLIS program in the University of Texas at Austin. After the Masters course, I moved to Florida where I’ve completed my Ph.D. in the SLIS, College of Communication and Information at the Florida State Univerity.

My research areas are health literacy, consumer health information behavior, and services; currently I’ve been studying an interesting topic, “Health information behavior of social media users in coping with STD (Sexually Transmitted Diseases).”

My teaching philosophy is that I am *a facilitator and collaborator* for the class; I will encourage you to participate in the class discussion, share your knowledge with the others, and let them flow.

Hopefully, I will be available for you to help you learn something new.
If you have any concern and question, please let me know; either on-site or by Email at redpapa01@skku.edu.

Thanks a lot!

Dr. Yi
